Business Details
Trollkyrkja or Trollkirka, in Fræna municipality consists of three limestone caves with underground streams and waterfalls. Previously, there were four caves, but one has collapsed. It is easy to travel in the caves. A river with waterfalls flows through the cave system and in some places daylight falls in. The caves are located approx. 500 meters above sea level. They are washed out of a large limestone vein that runs in the mountains. Access: The car park is marked and is located just off county road 64, on Fræneidet, a little north of the exit to Syltesetra. The parking lot has a guide up to the caves, and is located approx. 100 meters above sea level. From the parking lot it is approx. 90-minute hike with a 400-meter climb on a well-marked path. Towards the end the trail becomes steep, but not difficult to walk . - Top photo: Frode Inge Helland – Eget verk ( https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trollkyrkja_(Fr%C3%A6na)#/media/Fil:1985_Fr%C3%A6na_Trollkyrkja_03.JPG )
