Preikestolen is a mountain plateau on the north side of the Lysefjord in Strand municipality in Rogaland. Preikestolen is an almost flat mountain plateau, approx. 25 × 25 m and has a vertical cliff 604 meters down to the Lysefjord. The pulpit is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Ryfylke region and in Norway. Normal walking time from Preikestolhytta and Preikestolen Fjellstue to Preikestolen is 2 - 2.5 hours each way. It is a trip of 4 km with an altitude difference of 330 meters
