Norway's only preserved vintage railway on the main line with a steam locomotive, dining car and teak cars. Take a trip back in time with the Gamle Vossebanen Museum aboard beautifully restored teak railway carriages, pulled by a real steam locomotive from the last century or our motorcar from 1950. The Gamle Vossebanen is as unique as Norway's fjord railway. Veteranbanen runs the 18 kilometer stretch between Garnes station and Midttun station, and there is a departure every Sunday from June to mid-September. We drive with real steam locomotives, built in 1913 in Hamar, and teak wagons from the 1920s and 1930s. During the trip you can experience a beautiful Westland landscape as the train passes through the fjord landscape, close to the sea and water on one side and steep mountain sides on the other.
